Best little secret in north end love tis place
The dinner I had at Lo Conte's was the blandest experience of my entire life. It was so uninspiring that I almost cried in the middle of it. The lasagna looked and tasted like a block of marinara-covered rubber that had just been microwaved. It was so devoid of flavour and love - a real insult to Italian cooking. The server barely spoke and was only interested in collecting the order (and the tip). I was afraid he might beat us up if we accidentally upset him. Every single restaurant in the neighbourhood was bustling with energy, people, and good vibes. Except for Lo Conte's: empty, dreary, sad. I should have known better.
MoreI would categorize this restaurant as comfort Italian. Huge portions and good tasting food. I think I had leftovers to eat for another 2 days. If you are looking for a fancy place this is not it, but if you are looking for pasta dishes that hit the spot this may be a good spot for you to try.
MoreWow. The best place I have eaten the north end in a while. The mussels were fresh, filled with white garlic (fresh) and butter sauce. The free bread was perfect. I really enjoyed my main course as well. A shrimp, mussel, and calamari linguine white sauce that was made with fresh ingredients. The meal felt like something mom would make if she was Italian. The wait staff was friendly and treated us well. Best to Get there early to avoid the rush. Oh and the tiramisu alone is worth the trip to this place. Please do not pass on this place. It's a winner.
MoreA nice little Italian place with traditional fare. Nothing really creative but good basic cooking. Service was very good and the owner is always around.
MoreBeen coming here for over 25 year. Consistent food and service. Veal, seafood and the Caesar salad. Have referred this restaurant to family and friends and nothing but good reviews. A must try for anyone who loves Italian.
MoreFantastic alternative to La Famiglia Giorgio’s. Authentic dishes that are well prepared, delicious, and ridiculously well apportioned. Friendly, attentive service and reasonable prices. Get the rice ball appetizer if they’re offering it.-1 star because our Caesar salad wasn’t the freshest.
MoreWhen in the North End, relax, come hungry, leave full and happy! If possible come a bit before the rush and enjoy the transition from quiet to robust! Pleasant service, full portions, hot and delicious food! Service is good, not superior, ambience is North End! Enjoy your respit, enjoy your meal!
MoreNice people, good service. Enjoyed the seafood risotto but others from my group didn’t love their dishes. I’d rate as standard decent north end spot. What you see is what you get.
MoreI have lived in the north end and tried many restaurants this one by far is the best. This is my number one choice because the food is excellent every time. The fried mozzarella is the best I have had, the Cesar salad crispy and just enough dressing, the chicken Francesse has just the right amount of lemon taste, the shrimp scampi is perfect. The bread unfortunately is way too good, I always eat too much of it. Every meal I have had here is fantastic. The service is simply amazing, always on the ball. Lo contes is a hidden gem on Salem street. Everyone I have taken here loves it.
MoreThis place it wonderful! The service is lovely, the atmosphere is welcoming, and you get your money's worth. This is pretty much quintessential Italian comfort food. I'll be back next time I'm in Boston for sure.
MoreEnjoyed myself. Food was great. Cute place. Decent service. I'd go again.
Family style Italian on north end. Close to TD and away from main drag.
